ISICOMPACT - The revolution in tap technology
The new ISICOMPACT clamping ring now makes contact with all conductors in the main and tap cable using only one bolt. When the bolt is tightened, the clamp ring’s contacts penetrate the insulation of the main and tap conductors, so that prior removal of the tap conductor insulation is not required. That means: Assembly, convenient and secure as never before - practical and quick.
From the 1970s the PFISTERER SCK tap connector had already become the standard in domestic connection technology in central Europe. Installed a million times, tried and tested a million times.
Installation experience over the past few years has shown that things can occasionally go wrong when making contact with the six bolts. This has mostly occurred in restricted working conditions or when tightening bolts from below. The problem: If just one of the six bolts is not correctly tightened, the flow of current is at risk.
The entirely new design of the ISICOMPACT requires only one bolt and brings a whole set of further improvements: - The tap conductors are inserted from the side and do not need an elaborate threading procedure from the front.
- Contact plates penetrate the insulation of the tap conductor, so insulation removal is not required.
- The captive stiffening ribs prevent the contact plates from penetrating into the insulation before the nut is tightened.
- A shear nut acts as a "built-in torque wrench" to give the optimal tightening torque. A spring-loaded pressure plate ensures continuous contact force.
- The assembly procedure only ends when the projecting bolt shears off; an incompletely connected ISICOMPACT cannot be potted.
- ISICOMPACT accepts main conductors in the range 70 - 185 mm2 and tap conductors of 6 -70 mm2 cross-section, and can be used for all cable types.
- The live contact elements are finger-safe, enclosed in a housing of fully insulating, glass-fibre reinforced polyamide. That means: Even more safety with live working
