SICON with new bolt
The new SICON pressure bolt achieves 20 - 40 percent more contact force than conventional connector bolts. At the same time, control of the screw thread friction means that fine conductors are deformed and clamped with only the slightest contact force. With SICON, all types of cable are therefore connected in a contact-preserving
and gentle way.
Conventional shear bolts work with constant pressure. The finer the conductor, the greater is the risk of its being damaged as a result. PFISTERER's new bolt technology ensures ideal pressure levels on all types of cable. The individual wires of finely stranded conductors are not able to be damaged as a result of the screw friction.
The demands on shear bolts in screw connections are considerable. The new SICON bolt meets these demands with flying colours. Its continuous shearing system ensures that there are no predetermined breaking points in the thread and thus achieves optimum load-bearing capacity of the thread. At the same time, the shear point of the bolt is always located at the same level or underneath the clamp body. Protruding bolts are therefore a thing of the past, as well as time-consuming filing and the resulting metal chips which can cause disruptive electrical discharges.
