Direct earthing on the transformer. Safe with 2DIREKT.
The new 2DIREKT compression bolt with ball pin enables direct earthing to be established on transformers - a technical innovation and an important contribution towards improved workplace safety.
Transformers and switchgear need to be earthed and short-circuited during maintenance work. The earth terminal bolts required for this - in the absence of appropriate attachment points on transformers - were previously fitted to the switchgear. A configuration which conceals potential hidden dangers for maintenance personnel. If the two safety-related areas are physically separate from one another, the person working on the transformer is unable to see if the earthing terminal is fitted to the switchgear, which would indicate clearly that the system has been safely earthed.
PFISTERER delivers a remedy in the form of a new combination of familiar components: The 2DIREKT compression bolt with pre-fitted high-tensile copper ball pin. This innovative new product enables direct earthing to be established between all existing 2DIREKT transformer connection terminals for one to four conductors (cables) and for cross sections of 35 to 240 mm². Simply unfasten one of the compression bolts, replace it with a compression bolt with ball pin and secure the earthing terminal.
